About Us

Our family owned and operated company began in 1976 when Don Wilkens started selling produce from his cargo van at sixteen years old. Each morning Don went to the produce markets in Chicago to pick up fresh produce to be delivered to his customers.

After spending almost 20 years by himself operating the business he hired his first driver in 1992. In 1994 Don’s son Mike joined the business. In 2003 Don’s nephew Keith joined the family business.

In 2009 we changed our name to Wilkens Foodservice to better represent the products we have to offer. We supply fresh meats, dry and frozen goods, dairy, paper supplies, janitorial supplies, and equipment. (we do our best to get you what you need)

Our fleet of delivery trucks are equipped with dual temp refrigeration to ensure our customers get their products stored and delivered at the proper temperature.

Our corporate office is located in University Park, Illinois proudly serving customers in Illinois and Indiana. We also have satellite facilities in Fort Myers, Florida and Las Vegas, Nevada.
